As a designer whose work is influenced by nature, it was only natural that James Heeley would also be fascinated by the world of fragrances. Through his design work in France, this young Englishman discovered how fragrances are created and made. One of his first fragrances, Menthe Fraiche from 2006 is highly regarded as a contemporary, elegant and wearable scent of mint, a simple and difficult fragrance.

Over time, his beautiful, natural and lightly crafted fragrances evolved into more complex creations such as Cardinal, Esprit du Tigre and Cuir Pleine Fleur and a collection of fancy extraits. His self-taught, ever-evolving collection includes unique fragrances, each inspired by traditional French perfumery.

Every detail from the creation of the fragrance, to the eco-friendly packaging is designed in house. Today, Heeley is one of the few owner-managed and independent perfume houses in Europe. This independence allows him the creative freedom to create individual and unique fragrances. James Heeley was born in Yorkshire, England, and studied philosophy and aesthetics at King's College, London. He lives and works in Paris.
