Rudolf Hauschka had been thinking about his own cosmetics line for a long time, which was to complement the range of medicines - a sort of extension of the preparations for keeping the skin healthy. But it was not until he met the Viennese Elisabeth Sigmund, who ordered preparations from WALA for her self-developed cosmetic products, that his ideas took shape.

The cosmetologist, who was living in Stockholm at the time, travelled to Eckwälden and worked out formulas for a facial care product together with the medicinal experts. Together they found solutions for cream bases that were stable without synthetic chemical emulsifiers and created fragrance mixtures with natural ätheric Öoils.

In 1967, the first products came onto the market. In 1971 Elisabeth Sigmund trained the first Dr. Hauschka Natural Esthetician. "Of course we felt like rebels when we developed these unconventional cosmetics," says Elisabeth Sigmund.

Dr. Hauschka Skin Care still feels connected to the pioneering spirit of the founding phase: In 1999, the company introduced a complete range of decorative cosmetics with natural ingredients and a formula that not only tastes good but also cares for the skin.
